COURSE OVERVIEW

The etiology of coronary heart disease (CHD) is associated with multiple risk factors with dyslipidemia playing a central role in the incresed mortality and morbidity rates. Numerous epidemiological stuides have pointed a strong evidence for presence of elevated levels of total cholesterol (TC) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDLC). Elevated levels of fasting triglyceride (TG) also are a predictor of CHD. So through this module the link between CHD and dyslipidemia is elaborated and therapeutic lifestyle interventions have a firm adjuvant ground in managing these associated diseases along with pharmacotherapy.
